2013

farmhouse of the palms
How it started

It was a stunning 300 years old farmhouse — which we renovated completely.

2014: Our idea was to left everything behind and start a new life in the beautiful Algarve region. We wanted to open a B&B and enjoy a less hurried life, a life less focused on material things and more on nature and the energy that contact with people
brings us.

2015: We opened our B&B and called it Farmhouse of the Palms. The name was a translation in English of the original name in Portuguese: Monte das Palmeiras.

2019: While it was never our intention, Farmhouse of the Palms became a success story which culminated by being awarded the Publituris Trade Award for best countryside B&B in Portugal in 2019. Before we knew it, we had expanded to 9 rooms and were serving lunch and dinner besides breakfast.

This is not a goodbye, we say “até logo”
NOT AN easy decision

The only decision we could take, was to sell the Farmhouse

It then dawned upon us that we were simply replicating our previous life: more and bigger and that we were neglecting quality time with our son, one of the reasons for moving to Portugal.

2022: The only decision we could take was to sell the Farmhouse. It wasn’t an easy decision but a necessary one and we now look back with pride and joy on those magnificent 8 seasons. The thousands of guests we had the pleasure of receiving, the countless conversations, the smiles and the exchanging of experiences.
